Japanese food: Natto

The first step: Green mung beans are into warm temperature.


Recently, compare four or five years ago,
we can buy Japanese food easily, even the Pak'n.

Natto is one of Japanese foods,
Natto is high protein and high nutritional value.

In Japan, it is quite cheap.
Here, it is expensive.

So, I tried to make the Nattos which is used soy beans!

Upon searching on the Internet I discovered how to make Natto,
which is made from just soy beans and a bit of commercial Nattos.
I bought commercial Nattos at the Asian shop.
Unfortunately, I could not find out soy beans.
Instead of it, I try to uses mung beans of India.

I hope mung beans could be Nattos.

If it is succeeded, I will write how to make Nattos on blog..

Japanese soup, Sake lees soup.

Do you Know Japanese-Sake?

Do you know Sake-Kasu?

Sake-Kasu means Sake lees.

Smell is like Sake.  But alcohol degree is so low.

My friend brought back it from Jpan for me.

At lunch tme, she made soup of Sake-Kasu for me.

Since I move in NZ from Japan, I could not make the soup.

Oh!  What Its soup was so tasty!

Also, I eat two times of a big soup bowl.
Sake-Kasu soup.  Kasu means lees.

Two cuttlefishes.

I cooked two cuttlefishes.

Since I begin to live in NZ, I never cooked the cuttlefish.

However, every I found it, the size was so large. 
I did not want to eat the large one.

At last, I found out the good size.
I was so glad, and bought it.

I cooked with sugar, soy sauce and red hot pepper paste.
M~~!  It was so nice taste and flavor.
If it was used a little bit Japanese "sake" and "Mirin", it might be the vest taste.
I had not them.

After cooking, the smell was fish smell all rooms.
Even so, I was a comfortable smell.

A-chan said, "do not cook once more again".
He does not like fish smell.

Never mind!
I had eaten for two days.

Eggplants with chicken.

Easy cooking of the eggplant.

This picture is my simple and easy dinner of one day.

Two eggplants with chicken, a piece of butter pumpkin,
a small potato and Miso-soup.

52Chicken and the eggplant. 
1- Chicken: one skinless breast.

Slice, and sprinkle a little salt and pepper.
2- Slice about 8mm thick, and sprinkle flour on
the sliced eggplants.
3- Put (2) in the oven tray.
4- Put (1) to (3).
5- Put into the oven, and cook well for chickens.

 

Eat with soy souse of ginger juice.
N~n, good & tasty!  In Japanese is “OISHI-I!”


Eggplants of autumn is so delicious in Japan.
Also, it is not as big as NZ.

My favorite book. This is text for my students.  This book is so good for introduction of Kundalini Yoga. 
I am using for my students.

Potatoes.

Recently I bought a small oven.  It was $45 by clearance sale.   We can buy any time without the seasons.

My cooking way is always so easy and not oily. 
It is healthy and tasty.Try it.

The potatoes cooking for two persons. 
1- Potatoes middle size – two- After they are cooked, and mashed.
2- Leeks a 30cm leaf- cut a small size- Put into mashed potatoes.
3- One egg and a little bit salt- Put into mashed potatoes.
4- Chick pees of a can- three big spoons- Put into mashed potatoes.
5- Onion middle size – one – Cut into thin slices, and put it on the oven plate that is used a little bit olive oil.
6- Spicy and soy sauce.

(I- 4) is mixed well, and put it on (5).
The oven time is about 15-20 minutes.  After sprinkle (6) on food.

Maki-Konbu & Brown rice cooking.  Healthy, Tasty and Easy!


Hi kenzo-san,

See a photo, I cooked “Maki-konbu” of the right dish and used ‘Katsuo-bushi” for the left dish.
Say “thank you very much” to your mum in Hong Kong, please.14668

The left dish is a small pumpkin and brown rice that is covered vegetables;
which I cooked asparagus, small carrot and mushrooms with red spicy and
a little bit soy sauce, and later I put these vegetable with dry sliced bonito that
your mum gave me.
So nice, OISHI-I! 257



The right dish, “Maki-konbu” that your mum gave me, with carrot  and yams were cooked for 30 minutes with low temperature.  
It was easy cooking!
The Konbu is a kind of sea prant and healthy food.290



Both was so good taste.  Also, I was satisfied!!146404

Generally, Japanese foods are healthy food.

I enjoyed the Carrot Cake / 人参ケーキ作りました!

I made the Carrot Cake.  I enjoyed it!!!


I made the Carrot cake without an oven.  This is so simple way and healthy food.
Next time, I will try to make using an butter pumpkin cake.


An butter punpkin, a kind of  punpukins, is so delicious, and not so expensive.
I am eating every day at dinner.
I recommend to you.


人参ケーキをオーブンなしで作りましたよ。簡単に作れるし健康にもよい食べ物です。
こんどは バターパンプキンを使ってつくってみようかな。


バターパンプキンと言う種類のパンプキンで本当においしいです。毎晩夕食にでております。

How to Make the Carrot Cake without an Oven


This is a very simple recipe.  The next Saturday, I am going to make the Carrot Cake.  In ChCh, carrots are the reasonable price at the vegetable shop, and they are so sweet.  Incidentally, when I was living in Kobe, a carrot was expensive price.  I remembered it!


Ingredients:


- Butter、バター--- 40g  


- Eggs、卵--- 3    


- Sugar、砂糖--- 2/3cup   


- Cinnamon powder、シナモン粉--- just a little


- Flour、薄力粉--- 1 cup


- Carrot、人参--- one (chopped into small pieces)    


- Walnut pieces,  砕いたクルミ--- two big spoonfuls


Procedure:


1) Beat three eggs thoroughly, pour into a warm bowl and add the sugar.


2) Add the carrot and walnuts.


3) Blend the flour and cinnamon powder, sieve it and mix it in lightly.


4) Place the butter into a warm 19cm x 8cm (approx.) thick-style fry pan.


5) Coat the fry pan with the melted butter and add the left over butter to the bowl, mixing it in lightly.


6) Add the contents of the bowl to the fry pan and pat the bottom of the fry pan to release any trapped air.


7) Cook for about two minutes at medium temperature and then lower the temperature for another 20-25 minutes.  Test the cake using a wooden skewer.  When the skewer comes out clean, the cake is ready!

オーブンを使わずに作るキャロットケーキ:


とても簡単に出来上がります。CHCHでは 人参が安く手に入るし其の上甘い味ですね。余談ですが神戸に住んでいた時 人参の高かったこと。思い出しました。



材料は上記を参考にしてください。


 


作りかた:


1)暖めたボールを使い そこに卵を割り入れ泡立ててください。そのあと砂糖を加えます。


2)上記(1)に人参とクルミを加えます。


3)小麦粉とシナモンを合わせて振るい合わせ(2)に入れさっくり混ぜる。 


4)暖めた厚手中フライパン鍋にバターを入れます。


5)上記(4)のフライパン鍋に溶けた\バターを塗りつけ、あまったバターは(1)のボールに加え、軽くさっくり混ぜる。


6)バターが塗りつけられたフライパン鍋に(5)のものを加え、鍋の底を軽くたたいて空気を抜きます。


7)中火で2分位、その後はとろ火で約20~25分。竹串に何もつかなければ出来上がりです。

Beautiful lemons / 大好きなレモン

I made freezing lemons for a secret flavour !!!

Garden Lemons are beautiful.


Recently my student gave me lots of lemon from her garden. 
The colour  is so pretty.
This garden lemons are elegant smell.


I like it more than supermarkets. I made up freezing lemons.  I am using it to any cooking every day.  Now they become one of my secret a flavour.  In Japanese, secret a flavour means “KAKUSHI-AJI”   The “KAKUSHI-AJI” is important Japanese cooking way.  It makes more a good taste to our tongue, doesn’t it?

お庭でとれたレモン。

最近に生徒さんのお一人がご自分の庭に出来たレモンを沢山くださいました。庭で取れたレモンってすっぱくなくて甘みがあるしレモンの香りがホンワカしてて そのままでも頂けるんですね。沢山あるし冷凍にしてみようとやってみましたら大成功です。毎日隠し味として使かえるので重宝してます。
